As part of the ECOWAS Agricultural Trade program (EAT), WACTAF is organizing a regional training workshop on the Free Trade digital application, on October 14 – 15, 2025, in Lomé.

An Innovation serving regional trade
Developed with the technical and financial support of the AGRA, Free Trade is an innovative digital tool that enables users to track, report, and analyze in real time the obstacles encountered along trade corridors. The application enhances the traceability of agro-forestry, livestock, and fishery product flows and supports evidence-based decision-making through reliable data collection and analysis.

Objective of the Free Trade Training
The workshop aims to strengthen the capacities of national focal points to ensure optimal use of the Free Trade platform. Participants will receive training on :
- The technical features of the application ;
- Regional trade facilitation instruments ;
- Challenges related to cross-border trade and agro-livestock traffic fluidity.

Toward better regional coordination
Organized with the financial support of the ECOWAS Agricultural Trade Program (EAT/GIZ), funded by GIZ, this workshop represents a key milestone in the deployment of Free Trade. It will help enhance regional coordination, ensure reliable trade data collection, and promote the free movement of agricultural products across West Africa.
