On the sidelines of the annual meeting of the Steering Committee of ECOWAS regional projects held in Lomé, a delegation from the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID) paid a courtesy visit to the headquarters of WACTAF.
This first meeting between the two institutions took place in a context of institutional dialogue and initial contact, aimed at gaining a better understanding of their respective mandates and exploring future prospects for cooperation within regional development dynamics.
The AECID delegation was received by Mr. Motchosso Justin MATITOMA, Permanent Secretary of WACTAF. On this occasion, both institutions presented their areas of intervention, strategic priorities, and flagship projects currently under implementation.
The discussions highlighted potential complementarities between WACTAF’s actions, focused on trade facilitation and the smooth flow of commerce in West Africa, and those of AECID, which is active in supporting sustainable development and strengthening the capacities of public and economic actors.
