Received by the Permanent Secretary of WACTAF, Justin M. Matitoma, the meeting provided an opportunity to strengthen the cooperative relationship between the two organizations and to review ongoing joint initiatives aimed at promoting more inclusive and efficient cross-border trade in West Africa.

Discussions focused in particular on the achievements and futurs prospects of the project “Strengthening the Participation of Youth and Women in Cross-Border Trade,” funded by AGRA and implemented by WACTAF. Through this initiative, both partners are contributing to the economic empowerment of women and young people while facilitating their integration into regional trade value chains.

During the discussions, both parties reaffirmed their shared commitment to promoting a more resilient cross-border trade environment that creates economic opportunities and supports regional integration, particularly for actors facing barriers to market access.

WACTAF commends AGRA for its renewed confidence and looks forward to continuing this strategic partnership in support of trade facilitation, food security, regional integration, and enhanced economic resilience across West Africa and the Sahel.
